Born in Germany but brought up on the West Coast of Scotland around the town of Oban. I started out with the Church of Scotland before spending my teenage years in The Salvation Army Corps in Oban. A Junior Soldier and a Senior Soldier, helping with children and youth work and involvement with Sunday worship. I continued with The Salvation Army in Edinburgh when I went to University but I couldn’t settle. I also met the man destined to become my husband and through mutual agreement we started going to St Catherine’s Argyle Church of Scotland.
During my time with them and with my studies I felt God’s call on my life to become a minister. I applied and was turned down on the understanding that I tried again. So I finished university, worked in marketing for a year and then for Crossreach (then Social Responsibility), got married to Stuart and then applied again. This time I was successful and returned to University and started training. I did placements with Livingston Ecumenical, Broomhouse St Davids, Greenside Parish, and Balerno Parish Church. And then I was invited to consider Forth St Paul’s Parish Church for my first charge.
I was ordained and inducted to Forth St Paul’s Parish Church on the 4th November 2004 and have enjoyed being here since. Since coming here we have had two children and have settled here well. I like to think that I am passionate about my faith and encouraging growth in the faith of those around me. I am relaxed, laidback and approachable but I can be strong willed. I am always happy to talk to people about faith and issues within the church. Please stop by my blog and post a comment. I would love to hear what you think.
